Developing an educational research framework for evaluating rural training of health professionals: A case for innovation

Summary. Rural medical training programs need innovative approaches to improve learning. This paper describes a collaborative workshop process that developed a research framework for evaluating a rural health professional training intervention. The framework enables systematic study of educational innovations and establishes accountability for identifying effective practices in rural healthcare worker training.
