From Import Dependency to Indigenous Innovation: A Critical Review of Aluminium Speciation and the Roadmap for Affordable Clinical Diagnostics in a Viksit Bharat @2047
Summary. This paper reviews aluminum toxicity mechanisms, particularly transferrin-bound aluminum's neurotoxic effects, and proposes developing an indigenous, rapid diagnostic protocol for Indian clinical laboratories. Current imported diagnostic methods are expensive and unsuitable for high-volume testing. The authors argue for a paradigm shift toward affordable, locally-developed aluminum speciation techniques that run under 3 minutes, enabling India to autonomously monitor health risks and reduce dependence on global diagnostic standards.
