Analyzing the Contribution of Social Microfinance to Rural Financial Progress: Entrepreneurial and Social Dimensions in a Developing Nation

Summary. Social microfinance institutions in Bangladesh reduce rural poverty and promote sustainable development when they balance social welfare with entrepreneurial strategies. The study analyzes data from 2019–2023 and finds that institutional social performance, operational scale, transparency, and loan portfolio ratios directly improve rural development outcomes. Social enterprise models enable these institutions to achieve poverty reduction and sustainability without subsidies.
