External knowledge search and firms’ incremental innovation capability: the joint moderating effect of technological proximity and network embeddedness

The study analyzed patents in the unmanned aerial vehicle industry from 2004 to 2018, finding that technological proximity and network embeddedness jointly amplify how external knowledge collaboration drives incremental innovation.
