ANÁLISE TÉCNICA E ECONÔMICA DE UM SISTEMA HÍBRIDO EÓLICO-SOLAR OFF-GRID EM UMA REGIÃO RURAL NO ESTADO DO RIO GRANDE DO NORTE

João Vitor Linhares Silva, Mateus Ismael Rodrigues, Gabriel Ivan Medina Tapia · 2023 · Anais Congresso Brasileiro de Energia Solar

Summary. Researchers analyzed the technical and economic feasibility of a hybrid wind-solar off-grid system for a rural settlement in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Using HOMER software and local solar irradiance and wind speed data, they compared three configurations: hybrid wind-solar, solar only, and wind only. The hybrid system proved most cost-effective with the lowest net present cost over 25 years and required 24.7% fewer batteries than solar alone and 69.3% fewer than wind alone, making it the most viable solution for rural electrification.
