Technological Innovation Drivers in Rural Small Food Industries in Iran
Summary. Rural small food industries in Iran's Tehran province show low levels of technological innovation. A survey of 111 managers across 60 firms found that managers doubt technological changes benefit their businesses. Production capacity, firm age, formal R&D investment, and fixed capital are the main factors driving technological innovation. The study provides recommendations for managers and policymakers to boost innovation in this sector.
