Mobile Assisted Personalised Language Learning (MAPLL) : Sustaining Rural School Learners’ Distance Learning

Summary. A study in Malaysia tested a mobile-assisted personalized language learning model to help rural secondary school students learn English vocabulary during COVID-19 lockdowns. Using questionnaires and interviews, researchers found the model reduced digital inequality and improved learning outcomes. Students reported positive impacts on technology use, flexibility, learning approaches, content delivery, and mood.
