A Scoping Review of Digital Inclusion and the Digital Divide in Rural Zimbabwean Communities: An African Perspective (2021–2026)

Summary. This scoping review examines digital exclusion in rural Zimbabwe from 2021–2024, revealing that the digital divide extends far beyond lack of internet access. The research identifies affordability, digital literacy, and irrelevant content as major barriers, with women and girls facing particularly severe obstacles due to patriarchal norms and limited financial autonomy. Effective solutions require locally tailored interventions combining infrastructure development, skills training, and support for community-generated content.
