National Trends in Pancreatic Cancer-Related Mortality: A Population-Based Analysis of Rural–Urban Disparities and the Distribution of Place of Death
Summary. Pancreatic cancer mortality in the United States increased from 1999 to 2023, with rural death rates rising faster than urban rates since 2003 and surpassing them by 2010. Most deaths occurred at home (48.3%), followed by medical facilities and nursing homes. The findings reveal growing rural-urban disparities in pancreatic cancer outcomes, suggesting the need for targeted rural interventions.
