Impact of Women Participation in Fadama III Additional Financing Project in the Development of Rural Communities in Rivers State, Nigeria

Summary. Women in Rivers State, Nigeria participated actively in the Fadama III Additional Financing agricultural project, which improved their productivity and socio-economic status. However, the project's impact on broader community development remained limited. The study of 246 rural women participants found high engagement levels but modest community-wide effects, suggesting that while individual livelihoods improved, wider rural development outcomes need strengthening through better-designed agricultural initiatives.
