Effect of Entrepreneurship on Urban-Rural Income Inequality in China

Summary. Entrepreneurship reduces urban-rural income inequality in China, according to analysis of 265 cities from 2013 to 2019. Using dynamic panel data methods, the researchers found that entrepreneurship consistently narrows income disparities across different income levels and digital environments. The results suggest policymakers should create conditions supporting entrepreneurship in both urban and rural areas to address regional economic imbalances.
