Factors influencing rural educational investment under the digital divide: A QCA study

Summary. Internet usage diversity significantly influences rural household educational investment decisions in China, but the specific factors vary by region. In Eastern regions, family income dominates, while Northeastern areas prioritize device diversity. Central and Western regions show that combining internet access diversity with income and risk attitudes drives higher educational spending. These findings suggest targeted digital infrastructure policies can help reduce urban-rural education inequality.
