Modular Reform and Practice of Digital Cultural and Creative Design Courses based on County Place Name Culture Under the Background of Rural Revitalization

Xindi Zhou, Xiaolei Xu, Zhijian Xiao · 2026 · Journal of Education and Educational Research

Summary. This paper presents a curriculum reform for digital design courses in vocational colleges that integrates local place name culture from Jinxiang Town, China. The four-module approach—cultural excavation, digital transformation, creative design, and industrial empowerment—improves students' design skills while preserving local heritage and supporting the county's cultural tourism industry. The model demonstrates how place-based education can balance technical training with cultural inheritance during rural revitalization.
